FAQs


Is the Sneakers curriculum our own or is it a purchased curriculum?

Sneakers Educational Childcare’s curriculum is created solely by Sneakers. Our curriculum has been designed to prepare your child for kindergarten and our program is based on the state of Virginia’s graduation requirements for kindergarten. For more information on each classroom’s curriculum and goals please see the individual classroom pages!

How much time will my child spend outside?

The children will go outside 2-3 times throughout the day: 30 minutes in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon (split into 30 minute increments). There are also additional opportunities for your child to go outside for class and special activities. During the winter our outside times will vary depending on weather.

What are each classrooms ratios?

Turtles (6 weeks – 16 months): 1 teacher to 4 infants

Cubs (16 months – 3 years): 1 teacher to 5 children

Bugs (3 years – 4 years): 1 teacher to 10 children

Pandas (4 years – 5 years): 1 teacher to 10 children

How long will my child nap?

For children over 16 months of age, we provide a 2 hour nap time.

What is the process for enrolling my child?

  1. Set up a tour
  2. Pick up an enrollment packet
  3. Submit proper paperwork and payment

Does my child need to have immunizations?

Yes, we follow the state guidelines for children attending school. Part of the registration packet contains a release form to be filled out by your child’s physician that verifies that he/she has received all of their age appropriate immunizations.

How do you provide security for the center?

Each family is given their own unique key code used to enter the center. This key code will work throughout normal business hours, our security system documents the date and time a key code is used to enter the building.
